From the Garage to the River: The Trxstle Story

Not All Great Gear Starts in a Boardroom

Most outdoor gear brands start with a product pitch. A market trend. A boardroom strategy deck.

Trxstle started with a shutdown.

In the wake of a sudden collapse in the locomotive engineering world, two outdoor-obsessed engineers—one a die-hard mountain biker, the other a lifelong fly fishing angler—found themselves jobless, with their last paychecks stolen.

So, they did what a lot of dreamers do: they cleared space in a small garage, fired up the CAD software, leaned some fly rods in the corner, and got to work.

Why “Trxstle”?

Before fly rod carriers and sun hoodies, we were designing locomotives—trains that powered up to Machu Picchu, engines backed by Cummins.

We named the company Trxstle (say it like “trestle”) as a nod to the rail structures we used to engineer—strong, efficient, and built to get you somewhere. It also marked the bridge we were crossing into something new.

A little engineering work on the side for other cycling and fly fishing brands kept the lights on. But we knew we wanted to build something of our own—something that solved the kinds of problems we were facing every time we hit the river or the trail.

Solving the Problems We Had on the Water

The idea was simple: gear that earned its keep.

No gimmicks. No fluff. Just real tools for real days outdoors.

We started with one of our biggest frustrations as anglers—wasted time rigging up and breaking down rods, tangled lines, and gear that couldn’t take a beating on the road. That problem became the spark behind our first patented product: the CRC System—a rooftop rod carrier that protects your fly rods fully rigged, adjustable to fit different lengths, and engineered to handle the elements.

Built in a garage. Tested on Montana rivers. Refined through endless days on the water.

That same approach shaped every product we’ve made since—whether it’s our Rod Boots for travel protection, the Bucking Brown sun hoodie that’s become a top seller for those long days under a hot sun, or the ARC System coming in 2025.

A Small Company with a Big Heart

We’re proud to be operating out of Helena, Montana—where we design, prototype, test, build, ship, and support everything we make. We’re anglers and adventurers first, engineers second, and business owners somewhere after that.

What we’re not: A faceless company owned by a conglomerate. A brand built in a conference room. A name on a box shipped from who-knows-where.

Trxstle is small on purpose. We believe in building things right, supporting our community, and making gear that actually works—because we use it ourselves.

What Comes Next

What started on a garage floor has grown into something bigger, but we’ve never lost sight of the original idea: solve real problems, enjoy every day outdoors, and help others do the same.

If you’ve supported us—by buying a product, leaving a review, or just telling a buddy about Trxstle—thank you. You’re part of this story too.

We’re just getting started.
