Last year we published our Community Road Map. The C.R.M. outlines our goals for keeping Trxstle connected to the fly fishing and outdoor community. For each fiscal year, we pick goals that are attainable and a few that push our organization out of the comfort zone. And now that it’s spring, we thought we’d revisit the road map goals for 2019 and let people see what we’ve been up to and where we’re putting in more work.
Looking back at our commitments for this year:
- Donate the proceeds from at least one of our apparel pieces to a local conservation effort of our choice.
- Donate the proceeds from at least one of our apparel pieces to a national level conservation effort of our choice.
- Support at least 3 events with our donations.
- Promote a conservation or outreach organization each quarter on our social media platforms.
Goals 1 & 2
As a small company, the first two goals in this list are a pretty big deal for us. We have plans in place to meet both of these goals. We can’t share the juicy details until everything is finalized. We’re really excited and proud of being so close to achieving these goals. We look forward to sharing these partnerships with all of you as soon as we are able. There are two things we can share. First, we are in the process of expanding our Tumbleweed Artist Series line. Second, our first technical piece of apparel is in the queue!
Our event support has been moving along steadily this year and we have no plans of stopping anytime soon! Our film, Bridging The Gap, hit theaters around the Northwest earlier in 2019. BTG is a feature selection of the Montana Fishing Film Festival. To support the efforts of MFFF toward grassroots film makers we donated some prizes for their event raffles at different stops along their tour. We’re really proud of the work that went into our film and to be involved with the MFFF. If you haven’t yet, check out our film and all the other fantastic pieces of cinema in the tour this year. We highly recommend finding a showing at one of the remaining tour stops and getting yourself some tickets!
In addition to supporting the MFFF, we also had the opportunity to donate one of our new CRC Systems to Pat Barnes’ Trout Unlimited Banquet. Their annual banquet raises funds for their conservation efforts. We were proud to have our flagship product as one of the big ticket items. With two events down and only 1 to go for this goal, we began looking for similar opportunities to help raise funds and awareness for these types of crucial conservation efforts and organizations.
As luck would have it, we didn’t have to search for long. After discussing the mission and advocacy of the Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited Chapter with their TU President, we decided to offer another big ticket donation item for the May 18th banquet in Kalispell, MT. If you are in the area, be sure to visit the event and get involved. Plus, you could always bid on the CRC System…
While we have shared information regarding some of the conservation organizations we follow and support through our various social media platforms, we don’t really feel like we did Goal 4 justice in the first quarter of 2019. With the release of the CRC System and our mad dash to fulfill customer orders, our objectives were neglected in the shuffle. Rather than give up on goal 4, we’re going to rebuild it. Better. Faster. Stronger. We’ve come up with a way to help organizations build visibility while also gaining resources needed to fuel their efforts. We’re not ready to publish all the details on this program yet, but we’ve laid the ground work for something we think the fly fishing world will love. Stay tuned!
